Chapter 1 - Snugglebum?!

Laura Whitmore quickly settled into her new house in the small city of  Starlight Shores, getting to know the local football team on the TV. She had heard good things about people starting out small and making a name for themselves there, even begging her mother to let her flee the family nest to let her go and experiment. Her family finally relented and Laura flew to start her new life.

Quickly growing bored of sitting around her house, Laura decided that getting out to see the sights, and see if she could get a small job was possible. If there was one thing different to the town she had lived in before, was that the taxi's were free, and would take you anywhere. Asking the driver to take her to the best place she could get a job, she soon found herself in the middle of a large park with a stage. 'This seems like a good place to start, I guess,' Laura mused to herself, finding the propertier and auditioning. Laura was over the moon, quickly turning away from the propertier to try her luck at making a name for herself, even if it was Snugglebum the Cacophonus!

She was starting to get annoyed, singing to the few people that were sat eating and not paying attention to her, Laura was slowly starting to think that she should just quit before she crushed her dreams and her heart. She soon gave up, her stomach rumbling and no one even wanting to give her a chance.

Sighing in defeat, Laura struck up a conversation with a teen, hoping he would take pity on her and offer her some food. She had some success in that respect, striking up an easy conversation about his school, and where were the busiest places to gain experience and tips. There was no way she was going to survive a full week on the measly amount left in her bank account before her first stipend came in on Sunday. Soon the teen left Laura alone, letting her make her own way home. She climbed into bed, her heart heavy from the disaster of a first day, and hoping the next day would be better.
